Common Ground, New Haven *Summer Camp
February 2013. I actually went to Common Ground camp every summer for a good four years, now I am in high school, but I would definitely recommend this camp for your child, even if they are interested in becoming a counselor. Every day was something different at Common Ground and I actually made friends with other kids I still know and see today. I looked forward to returning every year, in fact, I couldn’t wait for registration every year. Definitely consider Common Ground farm camp because it offers so many different things and fun for your child. Anon.
Sept 2011. Outdoor agriculture and nature camp. My 6 yo daughter attends the after school program so I was concerned she might get bored but never did. Hiking, building forts, going to the frog pond, etc were daily offerings and she could choose among the activities. Negatives: No air conditioning so if you have a hot week it can get pretty uncomfortable. Positives: Everything else. She definitely wants to go back.
August 2011. My 4 yr old LOVED “farm camp”. I was very impressed with the camp counselors and how organized everything was! We only did one week. I’d be curious to know if they do the same things every week, or is it interesting enough to do more than a week or two? The only thing I was a little upset about were the camp pictures. I was under the impression that I was going to be buying pictures of my daughter at camp. Well, I paid for pictures, but NONE of them were of my child. I did let them know about it and they did apologize and I’m sure they will fix that for next year. If we are still around the area next year, I would definitely send her again.
