The Goddard School, Orange
May 2011. When looking for part time daycare for our daughter at 18 months old, we needed to find a program that was highly structured and NAEYAC accredited. She had some developmental issues and was receiving services from the Birth2Three program, and the program staff felt that she would do best in this kind of setting. We chose The Goddard School in Orange on the recommendation of our daughter’s therapist, and have been very happy with it. She’s now almost two and a half, has been in two different rooms, and has done very well in both. The teachers and directors are very committed to the kids and have always provided us with detailed information about her day. Our daughter’s primary therapist works with her there several hours a week, and her other therapists do occasional sessions there –the staff is always accommodating and willing to incorporate the therapists’ suggestions into their everyday work and routines when she’s there. The staff is very responsive to any issues that arise, and the facilities are impeccably cared for –when there was a particularly unpleasant bug going around one of the classrooms, they had the carpeting replaced that afternoon. The kids’ outdoor time is well-managed. The program goes from infants through pre-school and includes kindergarten. There’s a very active parent community with PTO, but we don’t generally get involved due to time constraints and the fact that we live several towns away.
