Aiki in North Branford is one of the best Martial Arts school. The instructors are great with The kids. They also offer many adult classes. If you want to be in a friendly clean family environment definitely go with Aiki!!!!!! Kisha R.
October 2012. We’ve been going to Woodbridge Taekwondo in the stop & shop plaza. Master Kim and Master Banny are fantastic and the older student helpers are also very skilled. I was a little skittish about taekwondo (instead of gentler forms) but the kids seem to love it and I am amazed by their level of excellence. Also, there are a lot of girls at this dojo, most probably because Master Banny is a wonderful role model. She is warm, fun/funny, great with kids, beautiful and lethal. She would make a great martial arts film star!
Also, we find it to be a great antidote to our perhaps overly-indulgent liberal parenting style–its kind of Korean boot camp with lots of emphasis on “respect” and “crisp determination” and the like. Anyway, we love the place–Ro likes the structure and challenge, & we like the emphasis on respecting your parents and eating your vegetables! Melinda P.
A-1 Fitness Center in Orange, CT has great instructors and offers children classes. Renita S.B.
I hear bashta’s is good. We are going to try that. My daughter did a trial class there. American martial arts is good too. BQ.
My friends love Hwang’s in Spring Glen (Hamden). Their two boys, 6 and 9, have been going since they were eligible (I thought it was at age 3, but it looks like it’s age 4). Greenmama
