Dance Classes, 3 and over

kidHaven parents recommend

  • East Rock Dance School in New Haven  “My 3 year-old has been in a half ballet/half tap class at East Rock Dance school that she loves. She’s now also in an all-tap one at the Neighborhood Music School that is also really great–they officially start at age 4, but are willing to flex that if the child has had other group classes and has the attention and control for the 45 min class. • Neighborhood Music School in New Haven “Ms. Tracy is fantastic.  The beginning class is low key, but the children learn a lot of technique.  The class writes their own performance at the end of the year, and they pick costumes out of the closet.  Great fun! Mira D.”
  • New Haven Ballet
  • New Haven Public Library
  • Sarah Kennedy Ballet for Young People, New Haven “Sarah Kennedy Ballet provides a fantastic means of introducing kids to ballet. I find she emphasizes personal expression and appreciation of ballet stories, rather than perfectionism and hierarchy. It’s in an intimate and sunny setting at Erector Square in New Haven. Erica A-S” “I attended a recital for the children and it was great. Brandon P.”
  • Studio One, Branford “Studio One in Branford is fantastic!!!!  They are located right off of exit 54 off I95.  Their motto is, “Studio One, Have Some Fun!” The instructors are warm, wonderful people who truly love their students & teaching dance.  The kids learn in a way that is fun & fosters a love of dance.  The recitals are very enjoyable to watch & are a reasonable length of time.  They also offer a few summer classes.  My kids & I LOVE Studio One! Tahnee C.M.”
