Weekend Highlights, Feb 26-27

:0)

First, a big thank you to those of you that sent all of your really good ideas to add to kidHaven’s first Best Of list after last week’s post.  I’m working on getting the list together as we speak.  I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this little project I’ve proposed.

Second, I wanted to let you know that I found a way to archive all the valuable tidbits folks have been sharing on Facebook.  Next time you visit kidHaven on Facebook, take a look at the Discussions tab for a list of questions and answers shared among a pretty awesome community of parents.

Third, I’ve started a list of Spring & Summer Vacation programs.  It’s just a start and needs lots of work but folks have already been asking me about Summer Camps so I took it as a hint to get my you know what in gear.

Finally, follow this link to see what’s happening this weekend!  And remember, you can always find Weekend Highlights by clicking the tab at the top of the page right here on kidHaven.com.

Happy Weekend!

Weekend Highlights, Feb 19-20

So I made a decision this week.

As I was submitting my votes the other night for the Advocate’s Best Of 2011, I had the same thought I’ve had every year since I moved here, “Why aren’t there any family-friendly categories??”  So annoying.  Sure I like knowing about where to get the Best sushi – but I’d also really like to know about the Best place to dine with kids-in-tow that’s not a chain restaurant, or the Best place for kids to take swim lessons, or the Best summer camp, or the Best family photographer or…  So I might be in over my head, but kidHaven is going to attempt a Best Of 2011 vote.

In order for it to really happen – I need your help – because without some feedback I can’t promise it will come together.  What I need right now is for you to sit and mull over what family-friendly, kid-focused Best Of categories should be on the list. I’m starting from scratch and need your input to really get the ball rolling.  Send me your ideas in a comment below, on Facebook or to kidhaven@email.com.  Seriously, without your ideas I might lose the motivation.

Now aren’t you just a little excited about this?  I  know I am!

Last but not least, please follow this link to this week’s Weekend Highlights.  It’s late.  Again.  Slacker, I know :)  But don’t you think I’m making it up to you with my proposition for a kid-centric Best Of list?  And I’ve even got a few other things up my sleeve, too.  So give a gal a break, wouldja?!

Happy Weekend! ~kim

Weekend Highlights, Feb 12-13 (updated)

Yes, this is totally late and yes, I am totally sorry.

Wishing you and yours a very sweet weekend.  Happy Valentine’s Day :0)  ~kim

p.s. …  a little update …

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to re-format kidHaven’s Weekend Highlights because it’s gotten a little out of control – which is a good thing because it means there’s lots of things for you and the kiddos to do!  I won’t go into the nitty gritty about why it’s not a cinch to fix it, but I will tell you that for now, Weekend Highlights will have a slightly different home until the formatting comes together (if ever.  I can dream, can’t I?).  Please follow this link to see the most current Weekend Highlights. If you glance upwards a little, you’ll also notice a link just below kidHaven’s logo (which is also being revamped.  Oops!  Did I just let the cat out of the bag?  Maybe some of you even caught me test driving it tonight?!)  I’m always open to feedback, so please share your two cents if you have some thoughts about Weekend Highlights’ new home, or anything else for that matter. Happy Weekend!
