We recently tried the Bounce U in Stratford…I think I had as much fun as the kids! Big slides, bouncy house, bouncy basketball…and more. Definitely worked up a sweat! You only get to bounce for 1.5 hours, and do make a reservation as they wisely limit the number of kids…but it was enough to de-fuse my 3 very bouncy kids and their 2 bouncy friends! The young staff were very nice to the kids too!

Sooo sad to see there is nothing (indoors) what so ever to do in stamford with the little ones.
Outdoor yes… there are a few good parks, playgrounds and the stamford nature center.
But nothing fun indoors. Even the libraries are boring and don’t have an interesting kids area like the libraries in Fairfield, and Westport for example.
An older child would probably enjoy the museum at the nature center. But def not a 2 year old.

Hi Aviva – Thanks for the info about Stay & Play. We really like Stay and Play because it was the only clean, comfortable, wide-open playspace before The Pom came along. Stay and Play is a large space where kids can move around and where you don’t feel all that cramped even on a crowded day (although I’ll admit, we’ve never been on a holiday when it’s likely extremely crowded. we avoid most places like this on school holidays). Bigger kids can sometimes get a little rambunctous and can make it dangerous for little ones – but that’s the case anywhere. There is a solid play structure that is good for older toddlers/preschoolers and up. They also have a train table, a few individual size trampolines and oversize building blocks. There is a separate, gated play section for crawlers. There is also a full size school bus where you can enjoy snacks and drinks. Sitting in the drivers seat is a highlight for M. Their cafe is a nice touch, offering coffee, tea, snacks and a small hot food menu (we’ve never eaten their food but I’m pretty sure I remember them having a menu for more than just a bag of crackers. pretty sure). They have nice couches to relax on throughout the room. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. About the only thing we don’t like about it is you aren’t technically allowed to bring your own food, although I’ve often seen folks sneak it in. All in all, we’re fans of Stay and Play even if it is a 45 minute drive. We don’t go there all that often, but when we do we make a day of it because of the longish drive.

According to their website, Stay and Play in Old Saybrook is now $8 per child. Can you elaborate on why this is one of your favorites, kH? :)

Just wanted to add that details have recently changed for Club Kids in North Haven. They apparently have winter hours that are different than what is posted on the website, so I would make sure to call before driving up there. Also, weekday prices have changed to $6.95 per child, but the website still says $4.95. My 22 month old had a lot of fun there, but I think some of the other indoor playspaces around tend to give more bang for your buck, especially if you are paying for multiple children to play.

Playtime Village is fabulous. First of all, it is huge, nice, and clean. They have a separate infant area to keep tiny ones from getting pummeled by excited toddlers. Also, they have a great snack bar with healthy options and they provide high chairs for babies to sit in. Could easily spend a whole day!

We tried two of these, and I wanted to report back. Club Kids in North Haven was a lot of fun – we enjoyed it and will definitely go back. Jungle Gyms was another story – it appeared sketchy from the outside, and the inside didn’t get better – the bathrooms were dirty, there wasn’t a lot of equipment (just a small room), and I really couldn’t see hanging out there long. But many thanks for the tons of suggestions! We enjoy this website
