We have a real treat for you! A bluegrass concert for children – coming to New Haven this January. If you have kids, grandkids are you’re just a big kid yourself, you won’t want to miss this family concert. “Astrograss for Kids” is an interactive, exciting, educational bluegrass band who are based out of Brooklyn, NY and have been performing for audiences at venues across the country – venues such as, Greyfox Bluegrass festival, NY; South by South West Festival, TX; Appalachian Uprising bluegrass festival, OH; BB King’s Blues club; and the Symphony Space, NY to name but a few. The band’s self-titled debut album, released in 2005, showcases its unique sound: earthy, bluegrass-inspired yet decidedly un-twangy. Astrograss is equally passionate in its vocal harmonies and surging improvisations. In concert, Astrograss wows audiences with an eclectic yet solidly rooted mix of original material, choice covers ranging from Jimmy Webb to Guns n’ Roses. This New York band’s second disc is full of upbeat, banjo- and fiddle-filled ditties that recall traditional Gaelic music. Be prepared to participate in this concert. Sure to be a fun time for the whole family.

Hi Kidhaven! I think we should get tickets because I have been home with 3 sick kids for the last 3 days………………………hahaha!!! and we need to get out of the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kidhaven! What a treat is right! We’ve been hoping to go but instead have been singing the “blues” since we were just notified our unemployment ran out – praying for that extension! We need a little bluegrass to help us dance those blues away!!! Thanks!
I’m am so excited about this concert!! We are planning on going but would LOVE free tickets!! We’ll be sure to bring our fiddle…
Where else can this ole fiddle-playin’ gal bring her beautiful little brown-skinned daughter to dance & enjoy the music that is very much a part of our American heritage! She might even bring her Irish uncle!
