Hands On Drama Class for Kids
Submitted by Sean at the Yale Children’s Theatre
We are opening registration for our spring term theater workshop!
Hands On is an 8-week drama class that meets on Saturdays for two hours. Sessions are held in Dwight Hall on Yale University’s “Old Campus,” located on High Street between Chapel St. and Elm St. The program is designed to introduce kids to theater, so each session focuses on one topic, such as body movement, character, and improv comedy. We provide snacks, and we play a lot of games that are designed to help kids feel confident and comfortable with self-expression. In the final few sessions, the kids work together to create, write, and perform their own short play for their parents. We hope you join us!
Dates of the Spring 2010 Program: Weekly on Saturdays, beginning on January 30 and continuing until April 10. Please note that there will be a 3-week break in March, due to Yale’s Spring Break.
Times: Ages 4-7, 10 am-12 pm. Ages 8-12, 12:30 pm-2:30 pm.
Cost: Free to all New Haven residents. If families can afford it, we encourage a $50 donation to help us continue our program.
