Discovering Nature's Alphabet

We just started reading Discovering Nature’s Alphabet, a beautiful children’s book I picked up a few years ago.  While our local library is our regular source for M’s books, I believe that a select few are worth having as our own.  Discovering Nature’s Alphabet has made our list.

Written and photographed by a husband and wife team, Discovering Nature’s Alphabet is a photo journal of the 26 letters of the alphabet “formed entirely by nature.”  It’s creative, and gorgeous, and just plain cool.

Inspired by this book, M and I have started discovering nature’s SHAPES.  The alphabet will definitely come later, when that window for learning is right.  But for now, check out our collection of HEART SHAPED rocks and shells we’ve already found!
