Memory Game – seashells
Before I forget, this is part II of the memory games we made recently. Jennifer at The Write Start deserves all the credit for giving us the idea to use seashells. During low tide, we collected a bucketful of shells.

After sitting in our yard for a couple of days, we eventually scrubbed the shells in the sink and let them dry overnight. Since we mostly picked two different types of clam shells, M helped sort them into two piles the next day. Then, with the stickers we had already picked out from the scrapbooking section at JoAnn’s, M and I carefully put them on the undersides of the shells. After a little break, M and I “painted” a coat of Mod Podge over the stickers to prevent them from coming off. (Mod Podge goes on white, but is transparent after it dries.) We let them dry overnight again and voila!
Here’s the fish version that sits on our kitchen table now. Amazing to watch the various “games” M invents from time to time when she’s playing with her shells by herself. But her favorite game still is playing memory with Daddy after dinner!

And here’s the cowboy version, a gift for a dear friend.
