The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule
When I have an extra minute during our regular visits to the library, I peek at the Parenting Section and quickly scan the sideways titles for any decent parenting books. Several months ago, I came across a gem – The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule.

The Creative Family is a quick read that’s jam-packed with kid inspiring ideas. It re-introduces families to the value of surrounding children with simplicity and beauty. It challenges our instant gratification tendencies with activities that require us as families to really think about how we spend our time together. This is the heart of the book, really. The (really interesting) activities are gravy.
This very busy momma has just published another book that’s on my to-do list. Handmade Home includes 33 sewing and craft projects made by reusing and repurposing materials. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Amanda Soule also writes her own blog. It’s one of my favorite bookmarks: www.soulemama.com
