With kids heading back to school soon, add DonorsChoose.org to your to-do list. In short, it’s a way for you and your kids to help out classrooms in need all across the country. Find projects locally or far away. Donate as little as a $1 and start the school year off by doing good.

Now before you tell me that you can’t imagine giving even more money to public education ON TOP of what you already spend on your own child’s education, you’re right. This isn’t how it should be. But it is. Many public schools are gravely under-funded and something has got to change. But like a good friend of mine always says, “Stop complaining already and do something about it.” DonorsChoose.org is one way to do that. As a family, donate a little or a lot. And if donating is not your cup of tea, tell a few friends about DonorsChoose.org. That still counts as doing good.
